Art has always been the passion that drives my life. I painted oils as a child, then, in high school my art major led me to drawing. Art was soon put on a back-burner to raise a family.

In 1988, I was inspired to again pursue my passion. While taking drawing classes at Moorpark Community College, I was selected to apprentice for Gaye Lynn Laguire, An accomplished, California portrait and landscape artist.

I watched her paint portraits and landscapes in several mediums. During this time I learned how to paint watercolor and oils, and established my own style. After a three and one half year apprenticeship, I pulled up stakes and moved with my family to Vermont.

In 2006 I picked up my oil pallet again, painting in the studio and out in the field. I have taken pleinaire workshops from Eric Tobin, T.M.Nicholas, Christopher Magadini, Andrew Orr, and Caleb Stone. I am continually inspired by Vermont’s views. The ever-changing light and color in Vermont's hills and horizons give me endless inspiration for paintings.
